Saputo Production Facility

TKA+D designed this 360,000 SF new milk production facility for Saputo Inc. (“Saputo”) including the interior design of the 24,000 SF administration and management offices. A double-height lobby welcomes the staff and the visitors upon arrival through the red framed front entrance. The interior finishes selected were purposely blended with the architecture and featured by a 2-level wood elevator front feature to enhance the openness of the space linking the 2 floors and provide a west coast vibe adding warmth to the colour palette. The glass railing provides visibility and connectivity along circulation paths to encourage interaction. The reception desk’s geometric form resembles milk in the form of a cut block of cheese as a hint to Saputo’s offerings. The ‘Saputo’ red paint on the outside of the staff room creates an illusion of ‘a floating box’ reiterating red architectural features on the office façade.

TKA+D’s interior design team developed a design scheme through an in-depth stakeholder engagement process to capture multiple end-user groups’ needs and worked together with Saputo’s management team to incorporate innovative workplace principles. Balancing inboard offices with open office areas along the perimeter provide daylight and views for all occupants.
