Killarney Seniors Centre Addition

TKA+D teamed up with Ventana Construction to design and construct this new Seniors Centre Addition to an existing community centre. The existing facility includes an aquatic centre, an ice skate rink and other community functions.

The addition is orientated so that the majority of the programmed spaces look North over the fields towards the North Shore Mountains, providing an opportunity for a significant amount of glazing and maximize the visual connection to the field and park adjacent to the centre and the magnificent views that form the back drop of Vancouver. This is all achieved while avoiding solar gain.
