We’re thrilled to announce some recent promotions and welcome a few new talented professionals to the TKA+D family!

Ben Chouinard promotes to Senior Associate
Ben brings to TKA+D more than 20 years of experience as a building technologist. He has a multi-dimensional skill set gained from the privilege of working on a wide variety of project types. Project experience includes educational, civic/ public safety, commercial, mixed-use, multi-unit residential, and single-family residential projects. He has a strong technical background, as well as a passion for design and all things creative as a result of his background in fine art. Ben’s recent involvement in 1313 East Pender and 1308 Adanac have resulted in very successful industrial projects.
Christina Fong promotes to Senior Associate, Interior Design Manager
Christina joined TKA+D in 2010 as a Senior Interior Designer, bringing over 25 years of experience across a variety of sectors, including hospitality, corporate offices, and custom homes. Her design philosophy embraces a “less is more” approach, creating timeless, contextually sensitive interiors that blend beauty and functionality. She integrates elements like light, materials, and form to craft spaces that harmonize with the architecture while meeting client goals for space planning and sustainability. Christina has led key projects such as the Surrey Operations Centre, Cloverdale Arena and UBC Pharmaceutical Sciences Building, and her commitment to innovation and client service makes her a valuable asset to our team.

Over the past 6 months, TKA+D has experienced significant growth, welcoming a diverse group of talented professionals across various disciplines. This expansion strengthens our ability to deliver innovative, sustainable design solutions while continuing to meet the evolving needs of our clients and communities. We’re excited about the future as our team grows and brings fresh perspectives to our projects.

  • Anouk Kluyskens – Project Manager + Intern Architect AIBC, LEED GA, Certified Passive House Designer, B.Arch: Anouk is a Project Manager and Certified Passive House Designer with over 15 years of experience, passionate about sustainability and delivering creative, holistic design solutions across a variety of project types.
  • Brooklyn McKave – Graduate Technologist: Brooklyn is a Graduate Technologist with a background in BIM coordination, now focusing on gaining diverse architectural experience as she works towards becoming a registered architect.
  • Eduardo Avile – Technologist: Eduardo is an Architectural Technologist with over 10 years of experience, known for his organizational skills and passion for design, striving to become a registered architect in Canada.
  • Eric Seo – Senior Project Manager, B.AS: Eric is a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in local residential and mixed-use projects, dedicated to mastering all aspects of architecture while mentoring others.
  • Pamela Mendoza – Project Manager + Intern Architect AIBC: Pamela is a Project Manager with expertise in both design and project management, committed to delivering projects that meet client needs with attention to detail and smooth execution.
  • Rezvaneh Norouzi – Project Manager, M. Arch B. Arch: Rezvaneh is a Project Manager with a Master’s in Architecture, known for her innovative designs, strong organizational skills, and dedication to animal welfare through her volunteer work.
  • Ysabelle Empiso – Foreign Trained Architect + Project Manager, Registered Architect NZRAB (VS), MArch. (Prof.), BAS: Ysabelle is a New Zealand-registered architect with 7 years of experience in masterplanning and residential design, dedicated to creating spaces that foster environmental stewardship and community connection.
  • Kwahlah Khan – Student Intern: Khawlah is a Student Intern at TKA+D and a Bachelor of Design student at UBC, eager to gain valuable industry experience and grow as a designer, while enjoying hobbies like sewing, crocheting, and reading in her free time.
