TKA+D commemorates the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation
On September 30th, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, TKA+D commemorates the history and legacy of the residential school system. This significant day provides us with an opportunity to reflect, engage and educate on the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. Further information about Orange Shirt Day | National Day for Truth and Reconciliation may be found here.
In observance of this day and in alignment with broader societal aspirations to promote understanding and reconciliation, TKA+D is committed to actively participating in various local events. We invite you to join us in acknowledging the historical injustices endured by Indigenous peoples and, most importantly, taking meaningful steps toward being part of the solution. We believe that through these actions, we contribute to creating a more inclusive and respectful society for all Canadians.
We encourage everyone to explore the provided links below, immersing themselves in the remarkable history, rich cultural heritage, unwavering resilience, and diverse traditions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities.
