Granville & 57th

TKA+D were engaged by Intracorp to design a 17 unit row home development in South Granville. The development consists of 2.5 storey wood frame row houses over a 1 level below grade concrete parking structure, and incorporates an internal mews to provide frontage to the rear units. The projects contemporary approach to design seeks to merge the clean, clear language of modern architecture with the tactile, warmer features of a traditional west coast home. The overall form is made of simple geometric gestures, the interaction of white forms, the cedar base and accents, that interlock to create a unified architectural form, with formality and rhythm.
